A few months ago there was a new Instagram algorithm introduced (and it’s still changing from time to time), which seems to have an impact mainly on business accounts where only 10% of your followers are able to see your post!

And also other many Instagram profiles are dealing with the decreasing of their numbers of likes and comments (total engagement) under their posts and they’re even not aware of what is really going on in this case.

But While it’s important to note that the new algorithm is subject to change, these 5 Instagram engagement tips

While you can still use your Instagram to promote your business and sell, this truly should no longer be the focus of your strategy, Instagram algorithms now want you to start thinking in terms of providing value to your followers.

the more time you take to show your followers that you are knowledgeable, helpful and experienced, the more they will know, like and trust you.

It basically represents that journey that you have to take people on as they engage with your brand. First, they’re in that discovery phase where they’re just getting to know you, then they start liking you and maybe even become obsessed by binging on your content, and then they start trusting you and supporting you.

That final factor, trust, is so important. Without it, you can’t expect to land clients or customers. Because people simply don’t do business with those they don’t trust.

    2. Complete your Instagram bio

    Considering that your Instagram profile is the new homepage, having a good Instagram bio is an important step because this will help you attract new followers.

    If you want to get new Instagram followers, they need to quickly understand why they should click that “follow” blue button.

    A good Instagram bio explains what’s your core business.

    A good idea is to speaks directly to your target audience. In this way, you’ll attract more quality followers who are aligned with your brand and who are more likely to become your customers!

    3. Start conversations and Get feedback with polls, questions, and stickers

    Instagram engagement is no longer just likes and comments, in 2020 it also includes engagement from your stories, people following your brand hashtag, IGTV views, and more.

    Instagram Stories stickers are a great way to encourage your followers to chat and share their opinions and experiences with you.

    You can use the “Ask Me Anything” Question this is an excellent opportunity for your followers to get to know your brand better, or get more information about your products. Also, it’s an excellent place for you to ask your followers some questions.

    But diving into your Instagram Analytics means more than just finding out which photo, video, or story performed best. Truly understanding how your content performs – by tracking key metrics over time – is key to knowing how you stand against the Instagram algorithm.

    Instagram Insights, the app’s inbuilt analytics tool, gives you some great metrics and data on how your posts, stories, and IGTV are performing. Just tap on the three lines in the top right-hand corner of your profile page and select Insights:

    From here, you can navigate to your Content tab. To see how your individual posts and stories’ performance, you need to select each individual post to learn more about the metrics such as how many likes, comments, impressions or reach your post received


    Instagram will continue to update their algorithms in order to give us the most relevant and fastest user experience and some business account will still lose their audience and customers due to the algorithms changes  but following those strategies and working with experts will help you boost up your engagement and beat up the algorithm
